INSTALLATION |
Determine the desired finished sink height off of your countertop. If the sink will be surface mounted, cut a hole large enough in the counter to attach drain assembly at bottom of sink (approximately 3”). If the sink will be recessed, see the chart below to determine the proper diameter hole to make in the countertop.
Prior to sink installation, connect drain assembly. Plumbers putty may be used.
If sink is surface mounted, structural paste epoxy or appropriate construction adhesive should be used. Make sure sink is perfectly level. If the sink is recessed in the countertop, apply the adhesive from the bottom (underneath, in the cabinet), making sure that the adhesive does not spill out onto the top of the countertop (see diagram below).
Sanded, latex grout caulk is recommended as the finished sealant between
the countertop and sink top. This caulk is readily available in a variety of
colors at most tile supply stores. Use a damp sponge to work caulking to
desired look. This material normally will darken as it cures.
